I have to do major body work on our 1990 Ford Econoline, I can't afford to have it done at a body shop. Plus it would cost more than the van is worth, so being a jack-ass of all trades and a master of none, I have to do the job myself. I have been doing body work for years on all the old cars I have owned in the past. I use galv. sheet metal and pop rivits and rusty metal primer. This video is MY WAY, the poor man's way of fixing the body rot, it has to be done, the van runs good but the body is going to hell. Soooo...If any of you that ARE in the body shop business and want to be critic, please don't, I do not have a garage or the equipment to do it the RIGHT way. To do it the right way...

PART 2 Of Poor Man's Body Repair. This is a cheap way to keep the van running for a few more years, as the body was getting real bad and something had to be done.. I use pop rivets galvanize sheet metal, bondo, rusty metal primer like XO-Rust after I get rid of most of the rot. I cut out what I can and clean it the best I can. This video is for your Do-It-Yourselfer's out there.

PART 3 Of "Poor Man's Body Repair". My son Tommy did most all of the video recording except the shots taken under the van which I think was on part 4. I continue to cut out the rust and place galvanize sheet metal to try to repair our rusting out Ford 1990 E-150 Econoline van. The hardest part was doing the side door jam (lower corner), I had to cut sheet metal and form it the best way I could so the door gasket would sit on the surface correctly. It was all rotted out so I had to guess the proper shape. Lots of metal bending....LOL

This is the 4th. and final part of "Poor Man's Body Repair". There is much more to do on the van but that may or may not get on video. All sheet metal work has been done to the right side of the van except the floor under the right rear quarter, that will not be on video. The left side needs very little sheet metal work and as I said that may or may not be on video. The bondo part MAY be on video, that will depend if my son Tommy wants to video tape it. This video here shows the finished sheet metal part both outside and underside. I show what has to be done underside and the repairs I made. ENJOY!
